Lunch and Discussion with Michael Connolly

The Gray Center invited students for lunch and an informal discussion with Michael Connolly, Partner at Consovoy McCarthy PLLC, and Director of the Free Speech Clinic here at Scalia Law. Mr. Connolly is currently counsel in the lawsuit challenging Harvard’s affirmative action policies, and his firm represents the President in his personal capacity in several matters. He also litigates in the areas of speech on campus and administrative law. The discussion focused on litigation careers in constitutional, administrative, and election law.

About Michael Connolly

Michael Connolly is a partner at Consovoy McCarthy PLLC in Arlington, Virginia. Mr. Connolly represents clients in discovery, motions practice, trials, and appeals in state and federal courts across the country. He has litigated in a diverse range of subject areas, including civil rights litigation, challenges to administrative actions, contractual and employment disputes, and election law. Mr. Connolly has particular expertise in litigation involving the First Amendment. He represents a variety of clients in cases implicating the First Amendment, including free speech on college campuses, commercial speech, and the Freedom of Information Act. Mr. Connolly is also the director of the Free Speech Clinic at the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University. Mr. Connolly earned his B.A. from the University of Kansas, where he graduated with distinction and his J.D. from New York University School of Law. Mr. Connolly is a member of the Virginia and District of Columbia bars.
