Prof. Mascott Addresses the Supreme Court’s Consideration of Major Administrative Law Doctrines at the Federalist Society National Supreme Court Preview

On September 26, 2023, the Federalist Society’s Faculty Division and Practice Groups hosted a panel at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC, regarding the Supreme Court term, which began on October 2, 2023.
The Court’s docket includes major cases involving Chevron deference; social media, state action, and the First Amendment; criticism of public figures via trademark; domestic violence and the Second Amendment; the Appropriations Clause; bankruptcy and opioid liability, and race in redistricting. The full list of cases granted thus far for the upcoming term can be viewed on SCOTUSblog. The panel also discussed broader questions about the direction of the Court.
