Cases and Controversies: A Preview of the Supreme Court’s 2023–24 Term

September 28, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Just months ago, the Supreme Court ended its annual term’s work with major decisions on affirmative action, the administrative state, and much more. Now, the justices are returning for a new year, with oral arguments beginning October 2. The Court already plans to hear cases involving congressional redistricting, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s funding, the Second Amendment, the Securities and Exchange Commission’s in-house adjudication process, and much more.

What might happen in the months ahead? How do these cases reflect broader trends in constitutional law?

AEI and the Antonin Scalia Law School’s C. Boyden Gray Center for the Study of the Administrative State previewed the Court’s term and the future of the Court in American constitutional government.
